Title - Security Software Engineer

Location; Grand Rapids, MI - Hybrid - will send remote as if they are good 

 

Responsibilities

You will be a key member of the IT security team involved in a project to implement Fortinet firewalls in multiple global locations. The goal of the project is to increase our cybersecurity posture. You will get to work with IT and business staff to ensure successful implementation with minimal business disruption. In addition, you’ll be assisting the networking team with configuration of network equipment as a result of the firewall changes. Once implementation has been completed, operational assistance will be required to ensure uptime and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

 

Qualifications

Required:

Experience installing, configuring, and supporting firewalls in a global and complex enterprise environment.

Experience with Web Application Firewall management and rules.

Experience responding to and investigating alerts (IPS, IDS, SIEM, XDR, etc.).

Cisco switch and wireless controller experience - configuration, life cycle deployment, troubleshooting

Cisco ISE experience - troubleshooting authentication issues

Network monitoring experience.

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, excellent problem solving.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Demonstrated judgement to balance security and business demands.

Demonstrated understanding of fundamental risk management and IT security concepts.

Excellent understanding of common network and web protocols, infrastructure technologies, and architecture.

Flexible work schedule. Some work will need to be performed outside of normal business hours to minimize disruption to business.

 

Preferred:

Grand Rapids, MI location (hybrid office environment) to facilitate successful collaboration with other on-site team members and leaders.

Fortinet firewall experience.

Cisco switch configuration experience.

Cisco wireless controller configuration, life cycle deployment, and troubleshooting.

Relevant industry certifications such as SANS, CISSP, CCNA, etc.

Project management experience within an Agile framework.

Experience working with business stakeholders in manufacturing/operations industry.
