Job Details are as follows:
Machines, fits, assembles and finishes(polishing) various tool steels, build and repair different types of tools, i.e., Machining Fixtures, Trim Dies and Diecast tooling.
Job Requirements:
- Studies blueprints of die and product, die models, and prototype parts and visualizes form, fit, and operation of die.
- Compute dimensions, plans machining, layout and assembly operations.
- Sets up and operates manual machine tools such as lathe, milling machines, drill press and grinder.
- CNC experience is a plus. Willing to train the right candidate.
- Verifies dimensions, clearances and alignment of members and parts in Diecast molds and trim dies.
- Smooths flat and contoured surfaces and fits parts to each other. Via polishing/stoning and machining.
- Dismantles die and repairs or replaces broken or worn parts.
- Checks quality of work/jobs before moving them to the next operation.
- Works to tolerances as close as 0.0001 inch.
- Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general cleanliness of the shop.
- Other duties as assigned.
