We have the following Temp to Perm position for an Electrical Engineer

Responsible for the design, development and test of high power switching amplifiers.  Requires knowledge of engineering principles and concepts as well as extensive experience developing gradient amplifier systems used in medical applications.  This role requires problem-solving skills, the ability to learn new technology quickly and adjust to a dynamic work environment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Project lead in designing high power switching amplifier and power supply systems.
  • Design from concept to field deployment. Circuit simulation, schematic capture, pcb layout, board level, unit level and system level test and verification.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, software/firmware engineers, manufacturing engineers and compliance/quality engineers to bring project to completion.
  • Lead technical meetings, design reviews and customer project reviews.
  • Analyze customer purchasing specifications, considering cost vs performance
  • Keep up to date on emerging technologies and component development. Contribute to and set direction for future product design and technology.
  • Hands on lab approach and the ability to provide guidance to junior engineers.

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • MSEE with a minimum of 10 yrs. experience and expertise with a variety of converter topologies.
  • Power factor correction and resonant converters a plus
  • Control loop design (digital and analog) of high-fidelity feedback systems
  • Thorough understanding of switching characteristics of MosFETs and IGBTs including newer SiC and GaAN technologies
  • Design and implementation of embedded control, on board diagnostics and monitoring..
  • Schematic layout and design (Cadence Orcad, Allegro)
  • Design simulation (LT Spice/Switchcad, MatLAB/Simulink)
  • Magnetics and filter design
  • FMEA, Validation & Verification
  • Familiarity of technical standards for safety and performance (IEC 60601)
